Breaking News - Ian Lealey turns 60!

1946 was a memorable year. Probably most known for the birth of Ian Leadley on January 16th. There were some other events in the year. Did these shape young Ian or was it fate?

Ian loves horse racing:

Ian worked at The British Library in Document Delivery:
Xerographic photocopying process invented

Ian turned out well:
The Common Sense Book of Baby and Child Care by Benjamin Spock was published

Ian travelled a lot:
The first commercial flight departs Heathrow Airport

Ian is High-Tech (this one is debateable):
ENIAC, the first non-classified all-electronic computer, becomes operational

That seventies look

How about those sideburns?

Ian INSISTED on visiting the Cat in the Hat!

Was it because he wanted some insight on what would happen on January 16th, 2006??

Hard to believe they had cameras way back when!

Ian's Retirement

Shortly after Ian retired from The BL I asked him what he was doing to occupy his time. After getting this response I figured we better find something better for him to do!

Well for example, the other day I went into town and went to a shop. I was only in there for about 5 minutes. When I came out there was a cop writing out a parking ticket I went up to him and said, "Come on pal, how about giving a senior a break?"

He ignored me and continued writing the ticket.I called him a Frenchman. He glared at me and started writing another ticket for having worn tires.

So I called him a piece of a rather foul name. He finished the second ticket and put it on the windshield with the first.

Then he started writing a third ticket. This went on for about 20 minutes.

The more I abused him, the more tickets he wrote….

Personally, I didn't give a darn. I came into town by bus. I try to have a little fun each day now that I'm retired. It's important at my age.

Then I get this picture and wonder just what the hell he does at work.
